This was immediately reported on the Edge Board last night*, and is finally out in the open on the main basketball board* several hours afterward:

He talked about Sean to our little group and then to the entire audience…”ignore the newspapers,” he has a mutual trust with Sean and Sean’s family, and believes Sean will most likely be back at UVA (but volunteered there is no guarantee) to lead the team and mentor Sammy Z. Coach advised Sean to explore all his options…which all players should do when they approach the fulfillment of their common dream. Sean plans to partic[i]pate in the Pan-Am games in July.

Well, that’s very encouraging news. Of course, anything can change – but if Coach Leitao feels so strongly about Sean coming back that he’s telling an entire audience of alumni to expect Singletary to return … then I guess we should follow his lead, no? At least until we have some indication to the contrary. (Aside from that whole “declaring for the draft” thing.)
