Leftovers … Early Spring Practice
April 7th, 2008 by KrisIn working on some spring football stories last week, I had a few leftover quotes. I thought the blog was a good place to share. Maybe this will become a recurring feature.
Virginia quarterback Peter Lalich:
On keeping in touch with Jameel Sewell … “He’s just telling me what I need to do, to make sure I keep my head on straight, and make sure I keep working hard.”
On the team … “I feel like I have the support of my teammates. We all support each other. We’re a really close team right now.”
On the weapons around him … “I feel like our receivers are great. They’re great deep threats and great run after the catch receivers. … I feel like we’re deep with skill players this year and we’re going to be tough to guard.”
Redshirt freshman receiver Kris Burd:
On the offense … “Pete’s a great quarterback and we have a lot of great quarterbacks on the team. Our offense is really ramped up this year. People are going to be surprised what type of plays are out there this year.”
UVa coach Al Groh:
On tight ends … “We have two very good tight ends who left, but we’ve got plenty here. The tight end position here isn’t going to change dramatically. At that position, it’s just part of the common recycling of college football.”
