UVa Recruits Move On In Postseason
March 5th, 2012 by Chris Horne- University of Virginia 2012 class signee Evan Nolte shined this past Saturday, scoring 30 points on 9-of-11 shooting as Milton (Alpharetta, GA) downed North Gwinnett, 80-58, in the Class AAAAA state quarterfinals. He was a perfect 5-5 shooting, including three 3s, in the second half.
The 6’8″ Nolte added four blocks in the win.
The Eagles move on to the state semifinals, which will be played on Thursday, March 8, but they’ll be without the services of senior point guard Charles Mann, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports. Mann is a University of Georgia recruit.
- Brunswick (Lawrenceville, VA), coached by former University of Virginia star Bryant Stith, defeated Handley, 63-38, in the Division III state quarterfinals this past weekend. The Bulldogs will now face Rockbridge County on March 6 at 5:00 p.m.
Brunswick sophomore guard B.J. Stith has committed to the Hoos. But it was his older brother Brandan, a 6’6″ junior forward, led the way against Handley, finishing with 21 points, 10 rebounds and four blocks. Brandan has an offer from the Cavaliers, but it is contingent upon him going to prep school for one year before enrolling. He is considering the offer along with several others, including Charlotte and Liberty.
