The Afternoon Break – VaSID Title
July 5th, 2012 by KrisAccording to this VirginiaSports.com release, the University of Virginia won its 14th Virginia Sports Information Director’s Association Division I All-Sport championship. The Hoos have claimed five straight titles and seven in the last nine years.
UVa won .646 percent of its contests in the 2011-2012 school year. The VaSID D-I All-Sport competition (includes winning percentages of only those sports with NCAA sponsored championships) has been recognized since 1978-79 and the Cavaliers have won 14 titles. Virginia leads the title count. ODU (12), JMU (3), Hampton (2), George Mason (1), Richmond (1), and VCU (1) have all won the championship in the past.
