Top Sophomore DB Visits UVa

September 30th, 2012 by Chris Horne

Numbers-wise there wasn’t a huge turnout of recruits, but there certainly was some talent on hand to watch UVa take on Louisiana Tech.  First, here are the UVa commitments we confirmed to be in attendance:

- Damascus (MD) LB/H-Back Zach Bradshaw

- Varina (VA) CB Tim Harris

- Monsignor Donovan (Toms River, N.J.) OL Brad Henson

- Good Counsel (Olney, MD) WR Andre Levrone, Jr.

- Good Counsel (Olney, MD) QB Brendan “Whitey” Marshall

On the uncommitted front, Olympia (Orlando, FL) senior offensive tackle Shawn Curtis did make it to Charlottesville and is currently on an official visit.  He is expected to leave tomorrow morning.  This is the first official for the 6’5″, 275-pound prospect, who has also scheduled trips to Syracuse (Oct. 19-21), Iowa State (Oct. 26-28), and Wake Forest (Nov. 2-4).  Curtis is also considering Duke, Mississippi State, and South Florida.

EDGE subscribers can read more on Curtis in this article posted earlier in the week.

Two other senior offensive linemen, Hylton (Woodbridge, VA) tackle Chasz Wright and Manchester (Midlothian, VA) guard Darius Garcia, were in Scott Stadium as well.  Garcia is still seeking his first FBS level offer, while the 6’7″, 275-pound Wright holds offers from Connecticut, N.C. State and Penn State,

H.D. Woodson (Washington, D.C.) cornerback D’Andre Payne, one of the most coveted defensive backs in the class of 2014, was in Scott Stadium as well.  The 5’9″, 170-pound Payne has been verbally offered by major programs all across the country, including those is in the ACC, Big 10, Big 12 and SEC.  UVa is one of the ACC programs that has offered.
