Rob Mahini, or “Vandy-Hoo” on the message boards, graduated from the University of Virginia in 1997 – bleeding Orange and Blue from every vein. Years of football games, cocktail parties, Foxfield, Rugby Road, U-Hall, Coops and the Biltmore, Trax, and a little bit of Clemmons library will do that to your blood. Wahoowa!

He joined theSabre.com community (in the days of virginiafootball.com and virginiabasketball.com) while attending graduate school at Vanderbilt – hence the moniker! Following the Lavell Blanchard saga during that time, Vandy-Hoo has been hooked on theSabre.com ever since.

During the post-Gillen coaching search, he began writing coaching cards and “Horserace” updates for The Sabre, and has written articles and blog posts for the site ever since. An avid blog reader, he hopes you will sway to The Good Ol’ Blog during the ups and not-so-ups of the Virginia athletic experience.
