About Michael Ingalls
Michael Ingalls is the original creator and founder of TheSabre.com, which was established in 1996 under the name VirginiaFootball.com and eventually renamed as TheSabre.com in 1999. Long known as “BoardHost” on the message boards, Mike has been involved with the site since its inception. [see History of TheSabre.com, Parts 1-4 for more info]
From 2004 through early 2009, Mike handled the design and technology aspects of the parent company, SportsWar, LLC, while John Galinsky and eventually Kris Wright managed the day to day operations, customer service and overall editorial responsibilities. With the SportsWar network shutting down for the most part, Mike has returned to full time duties with TheSabre.com to assist in all phases of the operation. Mike still maintains the title of Chief Technology Officer with SportsWar, LLC (now just managing six sites instead of 30), but is also President of TheSabre.com.
While a passionate supporter of Virginia athletics and a recognized name within the UVa community, Mike never attended the University of Virginia. He spent 10 years serving in the U.S. Air Force, both active duty and with the Air National Guard (1984-1990 and 1992-1996) and eventually received a degree from PVCC in Police Science (Magna Cum Laude), where he was president of the local chapter of Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society. Mike also spent three years helping the Virginia Athletics Foundation as one of its Charlottesville Board of Visitors, assisting the organization in reaching out to attain new members and help push for higher donation levels to achieve full scholarship status for all of UVa’s athletic programs.
Mike’s hobbies include artistic endeavors like oil painting and sketching, photography, graphic design and music production, as well as a stint as a motorcycle road racer back in 2002. His duty stations in the Air Force included Texas, Arizona, Nevada, Kansas and Washington, D.C., as well as overseas locations in Belgium (1986-88), Germany (1996) and Turkey (1993).
Today, Mike spends most of his time pushing TheSabre.com to new heights and helping his wife Jodie to raise his son, Charlie (born March 22, 2008), as the next athletic great at the University of Virginia!
