The WVS is now in effect. It’s one thing for Hoos to sell their tickets to Hokies knowingly (or without regard for that possibility). It’s much worse when a Hoo wants to sell a ticket only to a Hoo, but ends up selling that ticket to a Hokie or some other rival masquerading as a Wahoo on our message boards. So, I’ve come up with this system for you true blue Wahoos to avoid this problem. And for you Hoos looking for a ticket to have a verified Wahoo identity. To get on this list, you need to email me a request. If you have a longtime user-name history that I recognize, I’ll just add you to the list. If you’re not an active poster (or if I don’t recognize you) and are an alumnus of UVa, then you can get on the list by sending me your name so that I can verify your Wahoo-ness on HoosOnline. If you aren’t active and aren’t an alum, then email me about that and we’ll figure things out over email. There may be other ways to verify your “fandom” depending on the circumstances. Of course, all information submitted to me will be kept strictly confidential and will be used only for this verification process.

This system isn’t perfect. There may be some true Hoos that I just can’t verify. And some rivals may sneak through the cracks. But getting close to a list of TheSabre.com users that are verified Hoos will make ticket selling safer for each of you seeking to keep your seat orange and blue.
